News letter 1 - ÖTILLÖ 2011

It is our pleasure to say that ÖTILLÖ applications for this years race filled faster than ever. Thank you! We have some new partners that we would like to thank for supporting us and also to say that they have great products that will help you have a good ÖTILLÖ experience.

This is the 1st of 4 news letters that you will recieve prior to the race. Please make sure that you read them carefully.

IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES

A chartered ferry will take you to the start line. It leaves from Saltsjöbaden (25 minutes from city centre) at 1230 pm on Sunday, the 4th of September. You need to be on this ferry as it is the only way for you to be able to be in time for all going- ons at the Start line. The same ferry will take you back to Saltsjöbaden on Tuesday, the 6th of September at 11 am. This means that those of you flying to the race need to plan arrival on saturday the 3rd and departure on tuesday after 1430.

There is no other way or time to travel to and from the race unless you charter a boat at your expense.

SPECTATORS AND FAMILY

As we are in the archipelago and that the race has grown so much there are a very limited number of beds available. We have therefore put together two spectator packages that you can book directly on our web site www.otillo.se. These will guarantee your friends or family travelling with you a place to sleep, eat and to see the race.

MANDATORY GEAR

It is important that you bring all Mandatory Gear (see rules) to the start line as no gear is available there.

PRE AND POST RACE ACCOMMODATION

The hotel closest to the chartered ferry is The Saltsjöbaden Grand Hotel see www.grandsaltsjobaden.se. If you want to stay in town there are many hotels and the public transport to the chartered ferry is excellent, a train every 30 minutes.

THE 2011 RACE COURSE

The race course 2011 will be very similar, if not identical to the 2010 course. This is available on the web site (about the race).

TV PRODUCTION

The 2011 race will be sent on Swedish TV4 Sport as a 22 minute sports documentary in the end of October 2011.

VIKTIGA DATUM OCH TIDER

Ett chartrat fartyg kommer ta er till starten. Det lämnar Saltsjöbaden på söndag den 4e september kl 1230. Ni behöver vara med på detta fartyg, annars kommer ni missa all incheckning och tävlingsinfo i Sandhamn. Samma fartyg kommer ta er tillbaka till Saltsjöbaden den 6e september kl 1100. Det betyder att ni som flyger in måste sannolikt komma på lördagen till Stockholm och kan flyga hem efter 1430 på tisdagen.

Det finns inget annat sätt att ta sig till och från tävlingen om ni inte väljer att chartra egen båt eller med båt taxi.

PUBLIK OCH FAMILJ

Då tävlingen går ute i Stockholms skärgård finns en begränsad mängd med sängar. Därför har vi satt ihop två publikpaket som går att boka direkt på hemsidan www.otillo.se. Detta kommer garantera att er familj eller era vänner har möjlighet att sova i en säng, äta och se tävlingen.

OBLIGATORISK UTRUSTNING

Se till att ta med all obligatorisk utrustning (se Rules) till starten då det inte finns möjlighet att komplettera på plats.

BOENDE FÖRE OCH EFTER TÄVLINGEN

Hotellet närmast det bokade fartyget är Saltsjöbaden Grand, se www.grandsaltsjobaden.se. Om ni vill bo i stan så går Saltsjöbanan varje 30 minuter från Slussen.

2011 BANA

Tävlingsbanan 2011 kommer vara väldigt snarlik om inte identisk med 2010 års bana. Den finns tillgänglig på hemsidan (about the race).

LOKAL MEDIA

TV PRODUKTION

2011 års tävling kommer att sändas i form av en 22- minuters dokumnetär på TV4 Sport i slutet på oktober 2011.

Vi ser väldigt mycket framemot att ses vis starten i Sandhamn och att dela 2011 års tävling med er.
